greg's birthday.....he's (nearly) old! ;D

30 July 2004
My dear husband celebrated his birthday this week. It is the last of the twenties for him. Poor thing. Next year we are going to really get him for his thirtieth.

We all had low key birthdays this time around, what with moving, unpacking, settling in....Greg, of course, worked at his fantabulous new job on his big day. But afterwards we debated about going out for a small inexpensive meal, but since noone was up for it, we opted to get pizza from a small local Italian eatery. For a mere $9 we had some of the best take away New York Style pizza this far south of the erm, well, state of New York. Earlier that day Clare and I had collected a yummy Sunflower cake from a local bakery, and it was definitely sinful. Rich devil's food cake inside with fudge in between the layers, and a beautiful sunflower on top (Greg likes sunflowers). The icing was the very kind used on wedding cakes, so that made it even better.

We ate the pizza, had a beer, ate cake and opened presents. We gave him a nice book on the local hiking trails, a shirt, two watchbands he had previously seen at the hiking/outdoor shop and a lanyard to wear in work which holds your pen. Nifty!

Sunday my parents had come up to take us all out to eat for a Birthday Lunch~ Greg chose Outback Steakhouse. As usual, it was excellent.

Greg, I hope your special day was as brilliant and wonderful as you are. Here's to many more happy birthdays!
