update from the floor

15 June 2004
So here it is Tuesday afternoon and I am sitting on the floor typing this as I am awaiting a representative from DirecTv to answer my call. Last time when we moved from Colorado they still charged us satellite connection for a month even though we were in transit and our TV was very obviously packed up in storage with all of our belongings. This time that will not happen.

The movers didn't finish packing the truck last night until 9.45pm. Needless to say it was a long, long day. We all slept on an air mattress, which we have done in the past when moving and awaiting furniture delivery. But this time it was absolutely miserable, I guess because Clare is no longer the size of a four year old child and we have two more dogs than before. We had to fit ourselves just perfectly in order to be somewhat comfortable, so basically we became a human/canine jigsaw puzzle.

Fun stuff.

We didn't want our computer packed up in storage so that is going with us, and it seems it is about time to unhook everything and put it into the Jeep. They will be here at 2pm for the house inspection and then we are free to leave. Civilian life once again will be brilliant! Granted we have only endured this insane military tenure for three years, but believe me, it felt like an eternity.
