"Freedom consists not in doing what we like, but in having the right to do what we ought." ~ Pope John Paul II

During the mourning period for Pope John Paul II, I decided not to post any entries, but rather reflect on the great life, works and teachings of this extraordinary man. Whether you are Catholic or not, this man was someone whom everyone could respect. He led an amazing life and did so much for people around the world, including people outside of his own religion.

Living through Nazi occupation in his own country, risking his life to join the Priesthood, having such a huge hand in banishing Communism within Eastern Europe...his accomplishments are too many to list. Although his health had been failing for years, his heart and mind were still strong. He is one we can all look to for inspiration when our own lives become too chaotic and overwhelming.

Kyrie Eleison.
